[No Subject]

Back from NYC! Had a lovely time with the BFF: many drinks, walks with the goddog (who loved his gift of a rope-y disc-y thingy), afternoon tea, some time with quality tapestries, brunch with the bff's bf, parks in the spring when it's all pretty and not yet city-summer-smelly -- you know how it goes. Of course I didn't see some people I had hoped to squeeze in, but we'll remedy that in July, when Mr. Nous and I visit and make sure we fit in a night at a bar people can actually find.

I bought a paid premium account at Dreamwidth, as I must be able to do polls and have lots of icons. Icons!!! Oh, and for those who also love of the polls -- check out [info] - communitytickybox. Right now there's a poll on caffeinated drinks! Who knew that many people disliked ice coffee? Besides [info] - personalessieincinci, I mean.

Oh, also Dreamwidth related -- I have one extra invite code, yours for the taking if you speak up and give/send me your email.

Good gravy, I almost posted this entry with my overly-long to-do list for my mum at the end. I'm sure you all will be scandalised to know that she needs more nasal spray.

Off to write more A/S. Send vibes of prolificness. Profligacy. Both, I imagine.

holiday parties and fics and M.R.I.s

The question of the day:
Anyone able to tell me, in eensy words, how I can change the color of my cut-tag text/link text? I just changed my layout to something holiday-ish (yay, Christmas cookies -- also, it makes me say, which only [info]misanthrope7842 will potentially get, "Oh, holidaaaaayyyy!") and the red of the links are just a little much.

The lameness of me:
Missed a party last night that I really wanted to go to, mainly due the fact that I had to spend a good portion of the afternoon with my mum at an imaging center while she got an M.R.I. just a bit more about that happy fun ball of a time )So I missed the chance to have delicious desserts with a bunch of fun people, meh.

The luck of the Irish of me:
But then Mr. Nous said, in response to my news that I have the stamina of a...thing that has very little stamina, and wouldn't be driving to Boston after all, "Oh, then you can come to my work party!" Er...there was a work party? It turned out there was indeed, and since it was a) happening and ending fairly early, so there would be no chance of me feeling tempted to find a quiet corner and lean there trying to sleep with my eyes open as the night wore on and b) less than five minutes from our home, we went.

And and and! I walked into the room with the food and gasped, because there was a cheese tasting spread! I am -- FORTY CHEESES! From France, from Italy, from Wales, from all over, labeled with great notes, with appropriate chasers (olives, apricots, almonds, that sort of thing) set alongside the groupings, and a range of crackers/breads/etc. to try them on. cheesy details! )

The brave declaration:
Finally, I just want to say I'm going to finish my [info]yuletide fic today. Yes. I, uh, actually don't feel as confident as I sound, but I figure saying it out loud makes me accountable to all of you. And I know what hard taskmasters you all are! *waggles eyebrows suggestively* So off to rewatch *mumblemumble* and finish off this crazy thing! \o/
