Are you sure the solution is pie?

Since both crazydiamondsue and savoytruffle said I should post more of this story, here's the next part of my S/X AU Box Office Smash, which takes place on the set of a film. Xander's the errand boy, Spike's the director, and other Buffyverse characters show up in various incarnations. A few weeks ago, I posted the first part of a Spike/Xander AU as a thank-you for some anony-roses and chocolates. It was a snippet of a doodle of a lark, but it’s grown to something more. Seriously, it’s got a title and everything now!

Basic summary of where we’re at: Xander’s an errand boy on the set of a movie, and Spike’s the director who gives him a promotion after some good old fashioned shenanigans in Spike’s trailer.

Thanks to those who took the poll on this story shortly after the first post. Apologies to those who wanted Spike to be the lead actor. That role has been filled by another, as you’ll see below. But I did make the production a movie, which was the way of the majority vote, so huzzah for that.

e.t.a. D'oh! I posted with a rather blatant error in one of my cinematic references. Instead of correcting it, though, I'll have one of the characters point it out in an upcoming part. Have fun guessing it, if that's your idea of fun (and it's mine, so go crazy).

I seriously just caught myself thinking, "I wonder if I could approximate Twinkie in pie form."

Also, okay, I figured at this point that I should write a little sumthin'-sumthin', for anonymous gifts and kind readers who happily comment or lurk, and in the spirit of fandom love.

I get something out of it too, because I want prOn, and I want it of the S/X variety. But generally when I write I can't help myself from getting too plotty. Then it's pages and pages of character development and exposition and vague hints of genre plots that will unfold before we get anywhere near the prOn and I want it now, okay, now!! *takes deep breath*
