A head cold began to hit me on the way back from DC, and it's now morphed into an awful chest thingy (though obviously not as bad as Harry's chest monster, thank goodness). My lungs hurt, and I can't seem to stay awake for more than four or five hours altogether.

But if travel did bring on the cold, it was completely worth the trip.

I'm hoping to update in greater detail about the fabulous slashy fangirl weekend retreat in DC at venturous1's place later. But for now suffice to say Mr. Nous has heard lots about:

If you read/view, look back and forth a bit, because some of the small details in that fanart inspired developments in this story (mmmm, tattoos...). Ahem. This frantic fic was read through for egregious errors by the wonderful torino10154. Whoops! Sorry if you saw an entry that no longer exists here. I just deleted it as I didn't intend for it to show on InsaneJournal.

FYI, I think I'm going back to posting only fic here at IJ. RL and discussion sorts of entries don't seem to interest anyone who presumably looks at my posts on this service. No one whose rl entries I've commented on with some regularity in the past here at IJ comments much on mine. So there seems little point posting content here just for the sake of replicating the entry itself when I get more engagement at other journaling services.

As an extension of this, I'll probably end up restricting my comments/reading here at InsaneJournal to fic and fanart entries only from now on. Otherwise I doubt I'll have much fun commenting on your rl or discussion entries when there's so little reciprocity.

Never mind that. I'm online now, catching up with pretty much everything, so you can bet if you posted something important, I missed it. And thanks to all who offered supportive huzzahs on the moving front -- probably won't answer those comments because my life is still in boxes, but ♥

Yay for not having to move again for an entire year!

I've managed to finagle the internet/cable/phone being shut off in current place and turned on at the new place the day before the official move.

We've been told it's okay for us to come in and out the day before the official move. So though I'll be running back and forth between the two places, and will now have to hang out at the new place for a few hours in hopes the service guy gets there when he said he would, theoretically there will be like zero interruption in online service.

Today and tomorrow are the last days to vote for Humor Fics at rd_challenge, the Ron/Draco challenge fest. The voting closes tomorrow at midnight (U.S. Central time).

I was going to put a movie on in the background while doing stuff today, only to find that Mr. Nous had packed up all the DVDs. "But Hot Fuzz!" I cried out when I realized what he'd done. :(

It is grey and rainy and all I want to do is nap. But I have another overdue fic to finish (yes, yes, I know, I was just talking about one a few days ago, but this is a different one. And I'll be talking about another a few days hence -- please accept this delightful bouquet of packaging paper, sharpies, and bubble wrap as compensation). I must get it done today if I don't want to aggravate the mods beyond the point of no return, and of course I have to do, hey, you guessed it because you are psychic, more packing.

I got rid of a whole garbage bag full of kitchen/baking items today. No more completely unusable muffin tins for me! To celebrate, I made muffins. In a bread pan. Yes.

I have something important I'm working on tonight, and I have just sputtered. to. a full. stop. Someone rev me back up, pls.

The rd_challenge is still going on! Right now humor fics are posting, with four stories so far.

In completely related news, after packing more books this morning, I spent three hours at the laundromat washing, drying, and folding many sets of sheets! I am d-o-n-e done for the night!

But mostly what I have to say is that I am surrounded by boxes and need more tape.
